PUBLISHER INFORMATION
A clear view of
how we read feeds.
FeedSee is being rebuilt as an RSS reader that connects ideas across feeds. The public reader draws from five Yenra category feeds, NASA News Releases and MIT News Robotics and Energy. We also make limited, operator-reviewed requests to external feeds for private testing before deciding whether to add a source.
01 / IDENTIFICATION
Meet FeedSeeBot
Our feed requests identify themselves with this exact User-Agent:
FeedSeeBot/0.1 (+https://feedsee.com/bot)The product token for robots.txt rules is FeedSeeBot. We do not disguise requests as a browser.
02 / RETRIEVAL
Small, deliberate requests
- Public collection uses five approved Yenra feeds, NASA News Releases and two reviewed MIT News feeds. Private onboarding tests may retrieve an individually reviewed external feed and its robots.txt. Submitted website addresses are not fetched automatically.
- We read robots.txt, respect exclusions and publisher delays, and space requests to the same host by at least two seconds.
- We use ETag and Last-Modified validators to avoid downloading unchanged feeds. Yenra checks are at least an hour apart; NASA, MIT and external preview checks are at least six hours apart. Longer freshness, publisher delays and backoff take precedence.
- Collection is currently started manually. All collection checks respect the stored next-due time and publisher backoff. Preview captures may be reviewed offline without another request.
- We store feed headlines, permitted supplied summaries, links, supplied editorial dates and revisions. We do not crawl full articles or follow redirects automatically.
03 / CURRENT SOURCES
Eight feeds. Three publishers.
Yenra supplies five category feeds. NASA News Releases adds a broad mix of agency and science news, including English and Spanish entries. NASA cards show headlines, supplied dates/bylines and original links, without images or excerpts. MIT supplies Robotics and Energy feeds with short publisher-written descriptions and available bylines. MIT cards link to the original story and carry its requested reprint attribution. FeedSee is independent; inclusion does not imply publisher endorsement.

A direct line for publishers
Report a technical issue, request a correction, or ask us to pause collection. Your message goes to FeedSee’s private admin inbox.
No email address is required. You’ll receive a reference number; this version does not offer private replies or a public status lookup. We review ownership claims before changing collection settings.
How we handle this message
Your URL, message and review notes stay in the private admin inbox. Please don’t send passwords or other sensitive information. A first-party session cookie protects the form. We keep a short-lived hashed address for rate limiting; routine server access logs may contain your IP address. Messages are retained for review and follow-up by the operator.
